Eligibility: Kings Empire Veterans (K.E.V.) is a section of the
R.S.A for members who have served in or with His or Her
Majesties during any War or conflict waged by the Crown and
sanctioned by the NZ Government. Members who have served with other Allied
Forces may also be eligible.
Cost of Joining: A one-off joining fee is required. Currently no
annual fees are required.
K.E.V holds monthly meetings at the Silverdale RSA, which
include guest speakers who talk on a variety of interesting
subjects. Meetings are currently held on the second Monday
of each month at 2.00pm.
Other get-togethers are regularly held, such as Xmas and
Mid-year Xmas lunches and afternoon teas, as well as
occasional trips to places of interest. K.E.V. Bowling
Tournaments are also regularly held. Our teams have been
quite successful in annual national tournaments.
K.E.V Widows are also included in our functions, as we wish
to maintain contact as much as possible.On
Monday 9th March our meeting was held and was our
Annual General Meeting.

At the conclusion of the business part of the meeting, Ron
Hulse gave a very interesting talk about a cruise that he
and his wife had completed.
The cruise ship circumnavigated Australia, calling in to
many ports. Apart from Ron’s luggage being lost for a while
by the airline transporting them to Sydney from Auckland, it
appears that the whole cruise was very successful.
On the 24th of March, Silverdale KEV is to visit
the Auckland War Memorial Museum in the morning, followed by
a lunch at the Pt Chevalier RSA.
