We only telephone the
night before a trip if the charter skipper has made the
call to cancel. If you do not receive a telephone call
it means the trip is on and you are expected to be at
the charter vessel at least 15 minutes prior to
departure.
If you have put your
name down for a specific trip and then are unable to go
it is your responsibility to:
A
Preferably go to the Club and cross your name out and
put the number that appeared alongside your name on the
sheet number beside the first person on the standby
list, note that person’s telephone number and call them
to let them know they are now a definite starter. The
substitute member does not have to organize to pay the
$25 deposit (see note D below) but must pay the full
$75on the day of the trip.
B
In the event you cannot get to the club then please
telephone any one of the people listed above (in the
order they appear) to inform them you have had to
cancel. Please ensure your withdrawal is conveyed to
one of the listed members 48 hours before the scheduled
trip.
If a member fails to
comply with the above they will be expected to
compensate the cost of the trip before their name is
accepted for subsequent trips. In the event of a
sickness or emergency that prevents compliance with the
above the committee has the discretion to waiver any
penalty payment.
C A deposit of $25 is
required at the time of booking and putting your name on
the sheet for a particular trip.
The balance of the trip
money (usually $50) will be collected onboard the
charter vessel just prior to departure. There are
envelopes at the bottom of the notice board and the
money is to be placed in them with your name and contact
telephone number on the outside of the envelope which is
to be handed to either a committee member or one of the
bar staff. The deposit is non refundable but can be
carried over to any future trip in the event the
scheduled trip is cancelled by the charter skipper
because of bad weather.
D.
At the time of paying the balance of the price of the
trip on board the vessel you will be given the
opportunity to draw for one of the 14 fishing spaces
available. This is done to ensure fairness and prevents
anyone from fishing from the same spot on all trips.
The fishing spots on Kiwi Angler are on the notice
board. We accommodate couples or mates that wish to fish
alongside each other.
E
Members are entitled to “tag” up to a maximum of three
of the fish they personally catch. All on the trip are
entitled to take the same number of snapper home and it
is encumbered on each member to ensure they take a fair
size range of fish. On a number of occasions a couple
of gentlemen who have stood stand back have been left
with all minimum size fish. That is unacceptable
and unbecoming of a club and if it persists then a
slower method of allocating the catch will be introduced
by the committee.
If you are unsure of
any of the above please have a chat to one of the
Committee members
RAFFLES
:
The Fishing Club runs raffles at the Club
each Thursday commencing at 4pm
Remember that without
the income from the raffles we would have to either
further increase the price of the fishing trips or
reduce the number of trips.
The list for fishing
trips are usually put up on a Thursday after the raffles
so if you are there supporting the raffles you have a
good chance of getting your name down for a trip. |
